Even though rumor has it the role won’t be very large in The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, Shailene Woodley has been cast as Mary Jane Watson for the film, but what does the former Mary Jane Watson, Kirsten Dunst, think about the casting?

I really like her, a lot,” Dunst told MTV News. “I’ve met her a few times and we’ve talked about health foods, we know some of the same people, she’s really into finding springs and natural water and she’ll go get her water and things like that. I’ve done that before, and we’ve talked about that. I think she’s a sweetheart and such a good actress.

I’m happy, If I had to pick someone, I’m happy she’s following in my shoes.

Kirsten Dunst is convinced that female scriptwriters are better at capturing a woman’s tone.

The actress is currently promoting new movie Bachelorette, in which she plays a jealous bridesmaid to the girl she bullied in high school.

Written and directed by Leslye Headland, the dark comedy contains plenty of politically incorrect jokes delivered between the so called ‘frenemies’.

Dunst explained that a male writer couldn’t have nailed the subtle variations of women’s conversations as well.

“Of course,” the blonde beauty told German magazine TV Spielfilm when asked if women are better at writing for an all-female ensemble.

The blonde beauty also believes men “don’t like” mean women.

The star explained that had her part been written by a male scriptwriter, her character could have ended up less bitter.

“What’s interesting is that most of the female parts that are a little tough or bitchy have been written by a woman. I think that their male colleagues don’t like women to be like that,” she said.

Kirsten Dunst is happy to be bridesmaid

KIRSTEN Dunst isn’t feeling any pressure to get hitched after spending her summer going to weddings.

“I was a bridesmaid, a maid of honour, went to another wedding … This was definitely a heavy wedding year for me.”

As her school friends walked one-by-one down the aisle, the 30-year-old claims to have felt no pressure to get her own marital act together.

“Not at all, no. All in the time that it should come,” Dunst says.

“I’m not worried. When you do worry, when you fixate on those things, that’s when it doesn’t happen. Like when you hear about couples who adopt a child and then they get pregnant, you know? That kind of psychology.

“When you’re not thinking about it, that’s when it comes your way.”

So Dunst is happy to remain a bridesmaid – for now, at least – even in her new movie, “Bachelorette”.

Riding a post-Bridesmaids appetite for female-led comedies, “Bachelorette” is an indie production focused on three emotionally-stunted women (Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher) who go off the deep end when the fourth wheel of their old high-school gang – Becky, the one they called “Pig Face” (Rebel Wilson) – is the first to get married.

Family enjoy moment of movie magic

HOLLYWOOD actress Kirsten Dunst gave one little boy a treat during a visit to Crete arranged by a Whitley Bay charity.

Joshua Mann had his picture taken with the Spider-Man actress after meeting her while she was on the island filming her latest movie, The Two Faces of January, co-starring Viggo Mortensen.

Joshua and his family, from Spennymoor in County Durham, were enjoying a break in the sun laid on by the Sara’s Hope Foundation, founded to offer respite breaks to children and young people battling cancer.

The charity was set up in memory of Whitley Bay teenager Sara Hoburn after she died in 2001 at the age of 16 from a form of colon cancer.

Joshua’s is one of 22 families to have visited the retreat since it was opened last summer.

Charity founder Ged Hoburn said it was a pleasure to see the young patients and their families enjoying quality time together.

He said: “We spend a lot of time with the families out there, and we see them blossom.

Kirsten Dunst can’t seem to sit still through her movies. She leapt up at the start of her new flick, “Bachelorette,” at Sunshine Landmark on Tuesday despite a friend’s protest to “Sit! You promised 15 minutes!” The blonde stayed later at the Peggy Siegal party at Westway, where she, boyfriend Garrett Hedlund and friends snuggled into a back booth. “She and Garrett were cute. They kissed when they thought no one was looking,” we’re told. Also there were Naomi Watts, Isla Fisher and Brooke Shields.

The palace may not be pleased with Prince Harry’s recent Las Vegas antics, but images of the nearly naked Royal have earned the Prince a few new fans – “Bachelorette” stars Isla Fisher, Kirsten Dunst and Rebel Wilson.

Access Hollywood caught up with the stars at the premiere of their new comedy in Los Angeles on Thursday to find out if they think the Prince would make a good bachelorette party guest.

“If his butterfly breaststroke hybrid was anything to go by, then yes,” Isla told Access, referencing the Prince’s Sin City weekend pool race with Olympian Ryan Lochte. “I think it’s a pretty funny bit of footage.

“I mean, I wouldn’t want to be in the palace right now,” she added with a laugh. “I’m sure the Queen’s not exactly jumping for joy.”

“Bridesmaids” alum Rebel Wilson admitted she too would enjoy a little Royal blood at her festivities.

“If Prince Harry wanted to strip at my bachelorette party I would allow it,” the hilarious actress told Access. “I mean, I wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh, no.’ I’d be like, ‘Yes!’”

Kirsten told Access the Prince would “definitely, definitely” be fun to party with, but said his naked party photos weren’t exactly shocking.

“[Prince Harry] knew how to party since he was a little kid. Come on,” she said. “He was always that [way], I mean, whatever. He’s having fun, he’s a young guy, big whoop!”
