Spiderman 4 and 5..
Movie website Cinematical is reporting that the green light for a fourth Spider-Man film is very close — and that it will be probably be shot back-to-back with a fifth film in the franchise.
According to one of the site’s “trusty top secret super delegate Hollywood insiders,” a working draft of the script for Spider-Man 4 was handed in to Sony by Zodiac screenwriter James Vanderbilt. Cinematical’s source says that Vanderbilt’s “story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time.” This apparently got the studio thinking about lots and lots of money a solid, character-driven story.
The studio and Vanderbilt are said to still be negotiating a deal. The three main heavies associated with franchise –director Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst — have not signed on to reprise their duties in a fourth installment, let alone two shot consecutively. But outside of Raimi, what are they really doing these days? And a big, fat, radioactive spider-cheque has got to be sounding pretty good right about now, no?
